ABOUT THE BENEFICIARIES

162 Egypt Road Norristown, PA 19403 www.ThePathwaySchool.org |
The Pathway School is a non-profit, approved private school that provides educational and therapeutic services to young people with significant learning, social, emotional and executive functioning needs. Pathway is licensed to serve students ages 5-21 in its Therapeutic Academic Program and the Emotional Support Program.
At its founding in 1961, Pathway was one of the only schools in the greater Philadelphia area designed exclusively for the learning disabled child, and one of the first in the nation to unify the disciplines of psychology, psychiatry, medicine, social work, and educational instruction. Since then, the Pathway School has increased the size of its enrollment and staff, acquired its own 14-acre campus in Norristown, and solidified its reputation as a leader in innovative, quality programs and services for the learning disabled.
Throughout all of this growth, the school's mission has remained the same: to build academic, social and life skills in students with special needs to promote their success and independence after Pathway. |

Sixers Charities, a division of the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation, takes tremendous pride in serving the community and its children. By assisting organizations that focus on youth, recreation, health and education, our hope is to make a positive difference. We have helped create and assist in a wide variety of services, including educational and recreational programs, and provide tickets, autographed and promotional items, and publicity. Most importantly, the personal involvement and dedication of the 76ers family is what we hope will make Philadelphia a better place to live.
Sixers Charities is involved in many community outreach programs, such as Playground Rebound, Read For Ronald, La Liga del Barrio, Sixers Neighborhood Basketball League and plenty more. The money raised during fundraising initiatives like these has helped the Foundation assist many local beneficiaries such as, but not limited to: Main Line Health, Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis & Education Center, Philadelphia Youth Network, Firefly Literacy Fund, Sonny Hill Community Involvement League, Foundation for Melanoma Research, and Living Beyond Breast Cancer. |
